Reorder point
The stock level at which you reorder, so new stock lands before the old runs out: sales during the lead time plus a safety buffer.
Formula
Reorder point = average units sold per week × lead time in weeks + safety stock
Worked example
A tee sells 20 a week, the supplier takes 6 weeks and you keep 2 weeks of safety stock. You reorder at 20 × 6 + 40 = 160 units.
In fashion, footwear and sportswear
A minimum order changes the question: if the factory's minimum is 300 units, ask whether you will sell 300 before the season turns. Fabrik suggests quantities per variant at or above your minimum.
Where it misleads
Work size by size, not style by style: a style above its reorder point can still have M at zero. And a rate of sale taken from a promotion week will over-order.
